David Miller
David Miller lives and works in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and is a professor at Skidmore College. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and was honored in 2001 with a thirty year retrospective exhibit at the Tang Museum. His work is displayed in several museums, and is in over 500 corporate and private collections. In addition, he has received major grant awards including the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

In his essay from the Tang exhibit, noted writer and poet John Yau states, “ One of the strengths of Miller’s art is his ability to embody complex, often paradoxical feelings within a single work. His paintings don’t yield a single narrative, but many. One feels that the layering Miller uses isn’t only a formal device but a way of investigating disparate feelings, particularly as they underscore the irresolvable tension between wonderment and memory.
